The Region 9 Perinatal Quality Collaborative hosted the inaugural Doula DISCO: Doula Innovation Summit – Continuing education Opportunities for doulas on August 5th and 6th. This summit was free to all doulas who live or work in Region 9 (Livingston, Jackson, Washtenaw, Hillsdale, Lenawee, Monroe counties). A planning committee of seven doulas from across Region 9 was created to help plan and develop summit. Our aim was to make the Doula DISCO a hub for doulas to receive special trainings, participate in workshops, and receive continuing education credits or new credentials to strengthen their practice across a diverse range of topics, all while creating new partnerships and building relationships in our local communities.
